Inspirational History: International Students Visited the Borys Paton State Polytechnic Museum
On April 28, 2026, the Center for International Education organized an exciting excursion for international students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute to one of the largest technical museums in Ukraine.
The KPI Museum is a place where legends come to life. Students from all corners of the world had the opportunity to see unique exhibits demonstrating the development of aviation, space exploration, electronics, and radio engineering.
The guests showed particular interest in:
- 🚀 Space Technology: The chance to see authentic descent modules and learn about the contributions of Kyiv polytechnicians to the conquest of space.
- ✈️ Aviation Exhibit: From Sikorsky’s first flying machines to modern engines.
- 📟 Retro Technology: An exhibition of vintage telephones, calculators, and early computing machines that sparked many questions and lively discussions.
The tour was conducted in English, with support from students from the Faculty of Linguistics. This helped the international community dive deeper into technical details and understand the significance of each invention.
“It is important to us that international students feel like part of the large Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute family. Knowing the history of the university where they study helps them better understand the values of our academic community and inspires them toward their own scientific achievements,” noted Iryna Prykhodko, Director of the Center for International Education.
The visit concluded with a traditional photo session in front of the majestic Building 1 and the monument to Igor Sikorsky. The students were deeply impressed by the scale of the exposition and the museum’s hospitality.
