Obtaining a temporary residence permit in Ukraine

To obtain a Temporary Residence Permit in Ukraine, a foreign citizen must submit the following documents to the Center for International Education within three days of arrival in Ukraine:

  • Application
  • An international passport with a D visa (valid for more than 30 days), unless otherwise provided for by the legislation and international treaties of Ukraine, and copies of the pages with personal data and the visa.
  • A translation into Ukrainian of the page of the international passport document with personal data, certified by a notary.
    A temporary residence permit in Ukraine is issued for the period of study. If the information in the documents has changed during the validity period of the temporary residence permit, such documents are submitted within 10 days from the date of such changes to the Center for International Education.

After receiving the residence permit document, a foreigner must register his place of residence within 10 days, and in case of a change, re-register in accordance with the procedure established by the Law of Ukraine “On Freedom of Movement and Free Choice of Place of Residence in Ukraine”.

End of study period

After the end of the study period, if there are no grounds for extending the validity of the Temporary Residence Permit or expulsion from the university, the foreigner is obliged to:

  • Within 7 days, withdraw from registration at the place of residence.
  • Submit the Temporary Residence Permit in Ukraine to the Center for International Education (building No. 31, room 2-05).
  • Receive a “Decision” from the State Migration Service and a passport in which the mark on the issuance of the Temporary Residence Permit in Ukraine has been canceled.
  • Leave Ukraine.
